Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)

The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) was formed in 1996 for U.S. teams and is now in its 12th season. Thirteen teams play May-September in Eastern and Western divisions.

Atlanta Dream

The Atlanta Dream is in the Eastern division and has been a part of the WNBA since 2008 when the Dream played their first game against the Connecticut Sun. Their name comes from the famous "I Have a Dream" speech by Atlantan Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The WNBA Atlanta Dream 2011 season tipped off at Philips Arena. Proudly boasting the title of "only all-female owned sports franchise in Atlanta," the Dream is coached and managed by Marynell Meadors. Having made great strides in just three short years, the Atlanta Dream ended the 2010 season as winners of both the Eastern Conference Semifinals and Conference Finals. The Dream pushed through setbacks at the beginning of the 2011 season to end the year with a 14-5 record and an appearance in the 2011 WNBA finals.

Atlanta Dream Schedule
The Atlanta Dream schedule includes the regular season which runs from June through September. Philips Arena opens 2.5 hours before game time.
