The World Football Challenge
The Georgia Dome hosted the second annual World Football Challange tournament stop between soccer clubs Manchester City vs. Club America on July 28, 2010. Tied at 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, Manchester City went on to defeat Club America 4-1 in penalty kicks.
The Georgia Dome also hosted the inaugural World Football Challenge tournament game between AC Milan vs. Club America on July 22, 2009. Four of the world's top soccer teams competed in the U.S. in an unprecedented six-city round robin tournament, making Atlanta a part of soccer history.
AC Milan and Club America competed for the third match in the tournament with a score of 2-1, and Club America was the winner.
